WHAT


On July 10th SCHAP will be holding its First Annual Global Citizen Walk. The walk will be starting in San Diego. From San Diego, we will be walking up to our headquarters in Carlsbad.

HOW


The walk will be a team effort, arranged in relay-style. Teams of 5 will register. Each teammate will be assigned two legs of the race. The walk will be a total of approximately 25 miles and will include 10 different legs (about 2.5 miles per leg). Each team will be assigned a different symbol of our Rural Development Projects (solar panels, water containers, books, trash cans, etc.)

WHY


The primary objectives are to raise money for our 2010 Rural Development Projects and to create awareness about the things that CAN be done in a world where extreme poverty can feel overwhelming. As Global Citizens, we believe that bringing sustainable solutions to disadvantaged communities around the world is the key to ending poverty.

The Global Citizen Walk will begin in San Diego near Torrey Pines State Park and travel through downtown coastal cities including Del Mar, Solana Beach, Encinitas, and Carlsbad. The walk will conclude at the SCHAP headquarters in Carlsbad, CA.
